Accountancy practices

Overview

If you are an an accountant, you can run DoubleAgent accounts on behalf of your clients. For the clients it's behind the scenes: they won't know you are using DoubleAgent and they will have no access to the DoubleAgent accounts you are operating for them.

This works really well with clients who are quite hands-off with their bookkeeping.

Getting started

After signing up you will see your practice dashboard. The dashboard lists your clients and lets you activate a DoubleAgent account for any that you choose.

Once you have activated a client's account, you can dive into it much as you would from your FreeAgent practice dashboard. Then you can set up explainers to explain bank transactions, Stripe reconciliation and GoCardless reconciliation, and upload receipts for past or pending payments, either directly or via email-forwarding.

DoubleAgent lets you opt in to be notified whenever it updates FreeAgent for you. Any emails that DoubleAgent would send to a client (if their account were not managed by a practice), e.g. a notification that it has explained something, will come to you instead.

Billing

You pay for your practice dashboard and your clients' DoubleAgent accounts. We don't invoice or charge your clients at all.

Your DoubleAgent account starts with a free trial, just like a "normal", non-practice DoubleAgent account. The trial applies to your account, not to your clients' DoubleAgent accounts. You can activate DoubleAgent accounts for your clients at any stage; they don't affect your trial period at all.

Once your trial has finished and you (hopefully!) subscribe, you'll be charged on that day of the month each month. The amount you are charged depends on how many clients have DoubleAgent accounts on the day.
