To provide you the DoubleAgent service we need to collect a certain amount of your data. We have two overriding principles:
- to keep the data private;
- to hold as little data as possible.
This policy explains what data we collect and why. Please contact us if you have any questions.
What we collect
We ask for your email address when you sign up on the DoubleAgent website. We identify you by your email address when you log in to DoubleAgent.
When you connect your DoubleAgent account to your FreeAgent account, and whenever DoubleAgent subsequently synchronises with your FreeAgent account, we collect the following from FreeAgent:
- bank account names;
- bank transactions and explanations;
- company name;
- your name.
All communication between DoubleAgent and FreeAgent is encrypted, and the tokens DoubleAgent uses to connect to FreeAgent are always stored encrypted.
We collect some information about your DoubleAgent usage so we can improve the service. We also log your IP address when you use DoubleAgent, to help us detect and block security problems.
How we use your data
We use your personal data to enable you to access DoubleAgent. We use your financial data to enable you to set up rules to explain your bank transactions in FreeAgent. We also present your financial data to you in new ways to enable you to understand it better.
From time to time we may contact you about your DoubleAgent account. You can opt out of being contacted by us by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. To stop receiving notification emails from DoubleAgent itself (for example, a reminder that your trial is expiring), you should delete your DoubleAgent account.
Can DoubleAgent staff view your data?
DoubleAgent staff are forbidden from viewing your data. The only exception is if you give written permission for DoubleAgent staff to do so, e.g. for customer support.
Who we share your data with
We use the bank-transaction-explanation rules you set up in DoubleAgent to explain transactions in your FreeAgent account.
We do not update your FreeAgent account in any other way.
We do not give, rent, sell, or share in any way your data with anyone; nor will we ever do so. We reserve the right to disclose your data to properly authorised UK law enforcement with the appropriate supporting documentation.
We don't store your payment details
Once your free trial is over, you will need to provide payment details to continue using DoubleAgent. Your payment details are collected by GoCardless over an encrypted connection, which sets up a Direct Debit mandate for your subscription. We never see your payment details.
You can cancel your subscription at any time.
You can delete your financial data at any time
If you delete your DoubleAgent account your financial data will be deleted immediately from DoubleAgent's database. The data will still be present in historical backups until those backups are themselves deleted.
If your free trial expires your account is not automatically deleted. It stops syncing with FreeAgent so no further financial data will be imported from FreeAgent.
Updates to this policy
We will never change our core stance of maintaining your privacy and holding as little data as possible.
