This is how DoubleAgent knows which bank explanation to attach each PDF receipt to.
Example
Here's my upload rule for the Pingdom emails.
When DoubleAgent receives a receipt email, it looks for the earliest, matching, explained transaction (included those "for approval") dated on or after the transactions-after date in your rule. Transactions with explanations waiting for approval are included in this.
Normally the corresponding bank transaction appears 1-5 days days after you receive a receipt email.
FreeAgent only lets you upload attachments to explained transactions (including those awaiting approval), not unexplained ones. Which means the transactions corresponding to your receipt emails need to be explained. If you'd like to have these transactions explained automatically, add an explainer rule. DoubleAgent always runs the explainer rules before uploading attachments, for this very reason.
Once DoubleAgent finds a matching explanation, it uploads the PDF to the explanation.
You can see where things stand at any time by looking at the list of emails:
Example
Here's a screenshot showing DoubleAgent has received a forwarded Pingdom email, but Pingdom hasn't debited my bank account yet.
If you haven't yet forwarded any emails to DoubleAgent, you can learn how to do so here.
